Greater Giving
Some links on this page are affiliate links. Disclosure
Greater Giving is auction and event software aimed at the full gala night: mobile bidding, guest check-in, payment hardware and seating, sold as a package rather than a plugin. It is worth a quote when the auction itself is the revenue engine and you want one vendor accountable for the night working.
Who it fits
School foundations, hospital foundations, and anyone whose signature event is genuinely an auction instead of a dinner with a raffle. The bundled hardware and event-night support are the difference from a general fundraising platform, and they matter most when a hundred people are bidding at once.
What it costs
Every package is quoted per organization through a regional manager, so budget a conversation, not a checkout. Organizations report platform fees running roughly $2,500 to $15,000 a year depending on event size, with card processing on top at about 2.9% to 3.5% plus $0.30 per transaction, and one-time implementation somewhere between $500 and $5,000.
| Line | Reported |
|---|---|
| Platform fee | ~$2,500-$15,000/yr |
| Card processing | ~2.9%-3.5% + $0.30 |
| Implementation | ~$500-$5,000 one-time |
Ask what is included as hardware versus rented, and what event-night support actually covers, since that is where package differences show up.
How it compares
Givebutter runs ticketing and silent auctions free and covers most community-scale events. OneCause is the closest direct competitor for large managed auctions. Bloomerang and Neon both added event tooling to their CRMs, which is worth checking before you buy a second platform: if your gala is modest, the CRM you already pay for may cover it.
Bottom line
Get the quote early in your event cycle, and get the hardware and support terms in writing alongside the software price. If your auction clears six figures, a vendor whose whole product is auction night is a reasonable line item. If it does not, start with what your CRM or Givebutter already gives you.
