Best for Trusted name in the space with retention-focused features. Loved by all shop sizes, but works especially well for mid to large organizations.

Bloomerang is a donor CRM built around retention. Its dashboards put lapsing donors in front of you before they’re gone. The CRM starts at $125 a month billed annually ($1,500 a year) with unlimited users. It’s the ease-of-use pick once several people share the database, which is why it earns its keep at mid to large organizations.

Who it fits

Shops where the whole team touches the database and nobody is a data specialist. Bloomerang earns some of the highest ease-of-use ratings in the category, and the retention framing changes behavior: when the dashboard leads with donors about to lapse, follow-up happens.

Pricing

Bloomerang sells three products and prices them separately.

ProductMonthly, billed annuallyNotes
Bloomerang CRMFrom $125Donor management, reporting, marketing, mobile app
Bloomerang FundraisingFrom $40Sold bundled with the CRM: forms, events, text fundraising
Bloomerang VolunteerFrom $119Scheduling, screening, volunteer/donor sync
Auctions, peer-to-peerQuotedListed as additional features on Fundraising

Two things to take from that table. The $40 Fundraising price is the one that shows up in comparisons against Donorbox and Givebutter, and it comes bundled with the CRM, not on its own, so plan the floor for forms plus database at $165 a month, or $1,980 a year.

And the ladder above $125 is not published. Bloomerang prices on record count, so clean your list before you migrate and count it honestly when you take the quote. Compare that with Little Green Light and Eleo, which publish every step of theirs.

How it compares

Little Green Light is about a third of the entry price and very flexible; Bloomerang is friendlier and stronger on retention analytics. Eleo undercuts both and publishes its whole ladder. DonorDock turns the database into a daily to-do list, priced as a consolidation of several tools instead of as a standalone database. Neon CRM adds memberships and events for organizations that need the breadth. Teams choose Bloomerang when adoption matters most, because the CRM your staff actually updates beats the more powerful one they don’t.

Bottom line

If donor churn is your problem, this is the tool that keeps it visible. Book the Bloomerang demo, bring your record count, and ask to see the retention dashboard and the reports you run at board time. Those two screens will tell you if it fits.

Strengths

  • Retention dashboards show who is lapsing before they're gone
