Bonterra is a holding brand, not a product, and the single most useful thing this page can do is tell you what the names mean now. The renaming has been thorough enough that the vendor’s own product pages, Capterra’s URLs and Capterra’s display names currently disagree with each other.

Two corrections worth having, because both are widely repeated wrongly. The donor-advised fund called Network for Good was excluded from the acquisition and is now a separate organization called For Good — it is not part of Bonterra. And Charity Navigator’s Giving Basket is powered by Give Lively, not by Bonterra, despite frequently being listed as theirs.

The pricing, such as it is

Three tiers — Essentials, Pro, Enterprise — with no figures published anywhere by the vendor or the directories. Two mechanics are documented and worth knowing before you negotiate:

Pricing improves with renewal length. Longer commitment, better rate. That’s a vendor-stated lever, which means a one-year term is priced as a penalty.

Guided Fundraising prices on contact count, and the first break comes early. A reviewer in December 2025: “Contact levels dictating the price levels for my foundation. I feel that increasing the yearly membership at 501 contacts is too low.” Five hundred and one contacts is a very small file to hit a tier break at, and it’s the detail to price against your own list before you talk to sales.

Figures circulating elsewhere — “$109 per feature monthly,” “$3,588/year over a 15-month contract” — trace to no primary source. We’re not publishing them.

The durability question

Salsa customers were acquired and then force-migrated to a different product within about three years. That is the honest risk to weigh: Bonterra’s strategy is consolidation, and consolidation means some products get retired.

It is not a reason to rule them out — Fundraising and Engagement is a genuinely strong system for advocacy-heavy organizations, and Guided Fundraising’s bundled coaching is something no competitor offers. It is a reason to ask, in writing, what the product roadmap is for the specific thing you’re buying, and to know how you’d get your data out.

What reviewers say about cost

The word that recurs is “sticker shock,” usually softened by a first-year promotional rate. One reviewer describes exactly that pattern; another, reviewing in April 2026, puts it plainly: cost is the biggest drawback and reporting feels limited. A third describes fees charged “through tiers of 3 sub-processors” on payment processing, which is worth asking about directly.

Strengths

  • Fundraising and Engagement genuinely unifies CRM, email and advocacy actions for organizations that run all three
  • Guided Fundraising bundles a human fundraising coach with the software, which small shops rate highly
  • Breadth across corporate social responsibility and grantmaking that no other vendor here matches
